Race Week 18 - The Battle of Nurburgring
This weeks race week is centered around the German Road Race Track - Nurburgring Nordschleife.
Ferrari took their 599XX model there back in April of this year. They managed to set a new lap record on the track. The Ferrari 599XX is the first ever production-derived sports car to break the 7-minute barrier on the classic 20.832km Nordschleife circuit. There is alittle debate with Ferrari wether they stretched the rules alittle the 599XX - it is a track-only version of the Ferrari 599 and as such has an awaful lot of tech on it that isn’t available on the road car. But hey they still managed a cracking time around the world famous track!
So this Race Week is going to be linked to the above motorsport story.
It is going to be just the one track - Nurburgring Nordschleife Full Circuit 12.90 Miles.
The car I was going to pick was the Ferrari 599XX - but its a DLC car. So I thought I would make a slight twist on the above story.
The cars you can pick from to use are -
2002 Enzo Ferrari or the
2005 Ferrari FXX
There is also a Bonus Round to enter times using the car below on the same track as above -
2010 Ferrari 599XX (DLC Car)
The scoring is as normal but below is some extra points to be won.
Enter any time using either car doesn't have to be clean(can only be earned once) - 35pts
Enter a clean track time (can only be earned once) - 50pts
Beat the Record of 6m 58.16s lap with the Enzo or the FXX - 75pts
Enter any time into the bonus round with the Ferrari 599XX - 35pts
Beat the Record of 6m 58.16s lap with the Ferrari 599XX- 100pts
As the track is a very demanding course I will allow unclean times - no rewind though! If you manage a clean time there is a bonus score for doing so listed above.
All times must be posted below and please list what cars you use.
The times must be posted before the deadline of Saturday 17th July at 1pm.
