Round 5 - Live Race
Round - 5
Track - Melbourne
Date - Tuesday 21st December
Time - 9pm
Places - Enough for all the drivers
So after 4 rounds of close fought time trials we hit the track to have our 1st live race against each other!
I can here you ask which track is it going to be?? well that won't be annouced until the night of the race just to keep you guys on the edge! I will say it won't be a track we have already used for the time trials but that is all I will say for now.
How it is going to work depends on how many drivers from the F1 competition we get sign up. The online racing in the game only has rooms of 10 drivers - and we have 20 drivers in this comp! If we have over 10 drivers sign up I will split the drivers into 2 groups and we will have 2 qualifying races and the top drivers will then fight it out for the points.
The normal points scoring structure will work for the race so even if you go out in the qualfiying round you will still earn you and your race team some points for the night!
Please only post if your 100% sure to take part.

Race Results - Round 5 Melbourne
Well Tuesday saw our 1st live race of the Championship and it was a real cracker!
We had a good turn out of 9 drivers for the race in the blazing sun of Australia. The F1 track for this round was Melbourne.
With 2 of the top of the table drivers unable to make the race (mikethemute & StuCowie) there was plenty of points up for grabs!
A massive thanks to Darkestfrost, Wackybar, NinjaNash, RaingodZippo, BigAndiD, Minty, LongJohnMcNasty and TheBlackMagpie for turning out for the race!
Wackybar took an early lead and was holding his own with Darkestfrost chasing him in 2nd place but Wackybar (both drivers from Darkbar Racing) had a technical hitch with his car (well it was actually problems with his 360 pad) knocking him off 1st place and dropping down to finish in 7th which was so unlucky as he set such a fast pace! A stewards enquiry was held as there was some complaints from other drivers (unnamed) that it was an order from the Darkbar Racing pits for wackybar to move over and let Darkestfrost past but the complaints have been thrown out!
In the end a very risky choice made by BigAndiD (Team Slam Dunc Racing) paid off and allowed him to take the 2nd place. He chose to hold off his pit stop right to the last minute allowing him enough of a gap over the chasing pack.
RaingodZippo (Lameduck Racing) put in a top performance and came in 3rd and fought well in his team mates absence from the race.
TheBlackmagpie (Team Shake & Bake Motorsport) was disqualified by the stewards from the race due to his corner cutting on more than one occasion - it was rumoured that he even missed a corner completely but the TV cameras missed the rumoured event!
LohnJohnMcNasty(The flying Scotsmen Racing Team), RuffianStew(Team Shake & Bake Motorsport), NinjaNash(Legend Reme Team Racing) and Minty(Mints in the Face Race Team) all fought hard and changed places several times in the middle of the pack but all put in some good racing!
The race was a real cracker and a massive thanks to everybody that took part!
