Guidelines for Stewards Inquiry
Please read the information below for an overview of how myself and Ruffian Stew investigate an incident:
Both me and Stew watch the incident separately before discussing it in detail, reviewing it at the same time before issuing a verdict.
Hope this sheds some light on the decision making process and how we try to be as fair as possible to everyone taking part.
Please read the information below for an overview of how myself and Ruffian Stew investigate an incident:
- Watch before the incident and after the incident, to determine any factors that could have caused the incident and to look into the effects of the incident.
- Look at the damage on the cars involved and if that could have caused any handling errors.
- Look at the telemetry on all the cars involved, to understand where people brake, turn the wheel etc.
- Look at previous attempts at the same corner and see if anything was different about the attempt.
- An overview of the driver’s general race behaviour to get an overview of the style of driving they use.
- Look into any previous incidents in the race between the drivers (if any) in case there is any retaliation etc.
- Look at different angles to get a full picture.
- Try and put myself in that scenario and try and get an idea of what I would do.
- Look at the situation the driver was in at the time of incident (over taking, lapping etc) and the situation around them (e.g cars either side etc)
