The RTCM 2014 - The Rules

This is a breakdown of the rules to be adhered to during the Ruff DTM competition.

1. General Forum rules apply throughout this thread and any related topics – Please be respectful to everyone involved, this competition is all about fun!
2. Absolutely NO intentional collisions – This competition is being run as a serious racing competition (in contrast to our MarioKart style Forza nights!) so please no collisions! I understand that there will be accidental collisions, as this is part of racing and EVERYONE can make mistakes! If you feel that you have been involved in an collision that was not accidental, please make a mental note of which lap the incident occurred and the driver(s) involved and inform both myself and Ruffian Stew, who will be acting stewards through-out the competition and will investigate the incident.
3. Relating to the above rule, the steward’s decision is final! We will be as fair as humanly possible and no decision will be made without consultation between Iceman D18, Ruffian Stew and the drivers involved in the incident. So please respect the decision!
4. We ask that when you overtake anyone on the track, you do so in a way that will not harm either race! Racing is competitive, but if everyone uses common sense when overtaking, we can ensure that the race will finish with the same number of drivers it’s started with!
5. When overtaking (lapping) backmarkers, please try to contact the driver and inform them of your presence. Most of the drivers that have raced before have been exceptionally well behaved when it comes to this and will generally get out of the way as much as possible, but be mindful that everyone is racing somebody and each person will be following a racing line that they have worked out round the circuit. Just use common sense and we will be fine!
6. Backmarkers CAN un-lap themselves by passing the front runners but as with the above rule, please be sensible, plenty of talking during an overtake to avoid the risk of ruining either race.
7. No cutting corners/sections of the race track to gain advantage! Forza usually punishes you, by forcing you to slow down for going too far off the track, but the stewards are aware of certain tracks, where the game does not implement this speed penalty! So please don’t try and use this to your advantage, the stewards know exactly where to look Wink
8. The settings for each race will be posted on the sign up page of the competition and WILL NOT change at any point during the competition. These settings have been tested in previous championships and they work!
9. The details for the following week’s race will be announced on the race night before and then posted on the forum, with an update of the championship standings. Drivers will also be informed (mithered!) by the usual methods (twitter, xbox live message).
10. Qualifying is held right before the main event and will not be repeated under any circumstances. I have tried to keep the settings so that only an own driver mistake will cause a problem but Forza isn’t designed to host qualifying sessions so please remember this.
11. As mentioned in the sign up post, Clean laps are ranked higher than Un Clean laps, this is a Forza controlled thing and I can’t do anything to change this!
12. Finally HAVE FUN! The whole idea of the competition is to have fun and a laugh with the forum memebers!

Any questions, please post in the questions sectioned and they will answered ASAP.
