The Ruff Rookie League
- Competition Information -

Below is some information you might find helpful regarding the Ruff Rookie League.

This information was put together by the the competition host - TheMehwarrior!

League Timetable

The competition will start on Monday 16th March and advance every Thursday and Monday after that.
That amounts to basically a weekday and weekend game.

If you're unable to play, the CPU will sim the game (so no disadvantage to missing a game).

Preseason - 5 games
Regular Season - 17 Games
Post season (Knockout Stage) - 3/4 games maximum
Finishing with the Superbowl final!

At the start of a new season there is a draft, either you can manually select who you want to draft or let the CPU do it.

The Competition Structure

2 Conferences - AFC and NFC
4 Divisions in each conference.
4 teams in each division (Google it if you want to know the exact teams)

Team with the best record in each division advance to the post season along with 2 runners-up with best records (wildcards)
2 divisional winners with best records get a bye past first round of post season.
2 wild card teams play 2 divisional winners with worst records in wildcard round.
Winner of said games then play best record div winners.
Winner of above games then play each other for conference championship.
Then finally Superbowl between winners of each conference championship.

Other Information

Each week of the season, you’ll be given a set amount of time (which is basically a type of currency in this mode) that you can spend improving your players. The amount of time given fluctuates based on your team’s schedule. The more off days between games, the more time you can spend.

There are multiple activities that will improve your team, each of which costs a specific amount of time per player. Some activities earn your players XP that permanently increase their stats. Other activities boost their confidence, which helps them temporarily.

Every player has a confidence rating between 1 and 99. The confidence rating will change on a weekly basis, based on what happens to the player and the team. Poor individual performances, losses, trades, etc. can alter a player’s confidence. If a player’s confidence is high, their key ratings temporarily increase. If it gets too low, those same key ratings drop.

At the beginning of a Connected Franchise, every player starts out with a confidence rating of 50. Ratings start to change when confidence drops lower than 25 or rise higher than 75. If you have a young team that needs developing, focusing on XP is your best bet. If you have a top tier team, however, focusing on confidence will probably make more sense.

Any questions you have regarding the league please post them below!

Cheers
