Stage 4 was set at Rally Di Positano, dubbed 'Our Monaco' by some of the drivers, also know as the track from hell by the end of it! (Apologies for the track choice!!!)
3 stages had thrown up 3 different winners, could stage 4 offer yet another driver to top the list?! Maybe the technical, twisting, bumpy streets of Rally Di Positano held a surprise in store!

During the warm up to the race, there was plenty of hours practice on this track, I know I struggled to choose a car to use! Judging by previous stages and the type of circuit, I thought the car of choice would be a Lotus.... But I was wrong! Such a wide range of cars on show... the Classic Ferrari Dino, the sporty Fiat Punto Evo, even an appearance from one of the most successful rally manufacturers in the Lancia 037! At one point, 4 of the drivers in the championship had posted times in the top 1000, with T3RRAF0RM reaching the lofty heights of 354 with a time of 1.02.887.... which is simply unreal! I think this just goes to show how successful this championship has been already, what other gaming site can boast that they have so many drivers in the top 1000 in the world?! Hats off to everyone!

As with all the stages, a quick couple of warm up laps begins the night, before the main event takes place, giving drivers a chance to do quick tweets to their tuning and gives everyone a feel of the track with all the drivers. As soon as these practice laps started CHAOS began! Most cars smashing out in the first Chicane, resulting in the drivers quitting out... so panic began to set in... had I picked the wrong track?? Was no pits such a good thing? Or was this just destined to be a disaster?!

So nervously sitting on the grid... all 9 racers....and by some sick twisted turn of fate, I was on the front row, just behind Raingod! Lights out... wheels spinning.... the race began.... and every single driver should be proud! It was a sublime race from everyone involved! An early collision for Ruffian Stew left him with a pretty badly damaged car, but credit to him, drove exceptionally well to get that car to the end and keeping out the way of the lapping traffic! Up the front, Darkestfrost and Mehwarrior kept swapping the lead between them, from the times they over took me, watching it unfold was amazing, the driving was of such a high standard!

Further back T3RRAF0RM was hanging on to the front runners with yet another amazing drive and just waiting to pounce should they make a mistake! Pgtips made a storming start and in the first few laps battled from the back of the grid up to 4th, showing once again how his driving skills have improved over the weeks! Raingod, using his own guide, which he kindly posted up for everyone to see, chucked his Punto Evo round, never in danger from the following cars to a very impressive 5th place.

6th and 7th was a battle! Full credit to Shakey Lakey because throughout the race we kept swapping positions, the gap generally staying between 100-200ft! I somehow edged out on the last couple of laps and held off too the end!

Full credit to Ruffian Stew and Wackybar, who managed to get to the end of the race, both with badly damaged cars, keeping out of everyones way, very sportingly, I know the few times I past them, they pretty much stopped on track to let me past!

So finally Mehwarrior won a race, earning him my driver of the day, because this track, as everyone who has raced it knows.... its a swine! I know by the time the race come round I had pure hate for myself for picking such a crazy track, but it has been my race of the Championship so far. The drivers who took part showed true class, I know most of people probably hadn't experience full tyre wear and damage on this track and by lap 18 my tyres had dropped off completely but some of the times set, just proves that everyone was pushing!

Thanks again to everyone that took part and I look forward to the final stage!

It wasn't the following cars that were the danger...it was the man in the Ford Escort who can't tell left from right...that's where I went wrong...didn't plan for that Laughing Laughing Laughing Laughing Laughing

EDIT *** Having studied the replay in great detail I can exclusively reveal that Dark did not in fact do any damage to me in the collision...the damage was done when I hit the tyre barrier just before, and that is also why I was so slow to react to the "Go left" command as I was basically doing 10mph after the previous crash...sorry Dark*** Very Happy Very Happy Very Happy

Really enjoyed the race. A PB time for me so happy. Shame I couldn't hold off the Iceman but, after bumping him on a corner mid-race, I feel less of a git for him coming a place ahead. To be honest it was nice to have someone to compete with as normally I'm in that no mans land in the middle of the pack.
