Stage 5, the final stage of an already exciting championship was to be hosted at the all British (So I don’t upset the friendly Scots amongst the grid) Silverstone Grand Prix Circuit. Each of the previous 4 stages had produced a different winner, could stage 5 give glories to yet another racer?! The practice to the race was delayed due to the release of a new title and everyone (Including myself!) got dragged in (Bad planning on my part!) However T3RRAF0RM once again set the Hot Lap pace with mike and mehwarrior close behind.

As with all races, it started with a few laps practice so everyone can get used to the amount of cars on the track and check my ever reliable internet connection. We noticed the main problem with Silverstone is that the braking markers are quite easier knocked out the way and everyone seems to lose their braking point, hence quite a few cars over shot the tight left hander after the 180 turn. Also Stew someone how lost control on the straight and Iceman ended up T Boning the side of his car, resulting in his car being limited to about 3 mph and my car limping for the rest of the practice. Stew’s little incident also played havoc to mike as he didn’t realise Stew was going so slow, rear ended him and someone landed on his roof just past the start finish line, meaning everyone tried to smash into them as they finished the final practice lap.

So the stage was set, the cars eagerly sat on the grid awaiting the final lights out of the championship. As always the grid order was set to random, giving everyone an equal chance to start at the front. Once the race began Mehwarrior shot into an early lead with mike and T3RRAF0RM breathing down his neck. Having started from the back, Iceman was battling to pass Stew on a corner, dived for a gap that wasn’t really there and ended up taking Stew and himself off the track but thankfully both cars were able to carry on, however upon inspection in the video telemetry after the race, Iceman’s front suspension was…whats the technical term….. FUBAR, which resulted in his worse drive of the championship. Raingod Zippo and BigAndiD were battling away in the middle of the grid, constantly exchanging places once they had shaken the attention of the damaged Iceman away from them. PgTips once again showing his class driving by hanging on, without much trouble to his 4th place.
The North London Derby was once again getting fierce towards the back of the grid between Stew and Wackybar, with both cars following each other, even off the track! The time for passing back markers soon came around and as always the back markers were very sensible at getting out the way. There was an incident between Mehwarrior and Iceman as Mehwarrior was getting to a point to pass and Iceman’s Diablo bogged down as it hit 4th gear and Mehwarrior run into the back of him. As a result Iceman’s car was pretty awful to drive, mixed in with old tyres, it was just damage limitation for the rest of the race. Mike soon caught up to Mehwarrior, knowing Silverstone like the back of his glove, noting at one point that he doesn’t usually brake at a corner on F1 that he had to on this!

Raingod had to pit, dropping him in behind Iceman, 6000ft between the 2 cars but with 2 laps to go Iceman pitted, not realising there was only 2 laps left, which reduced the gap to around 1000ft. Pretty safe you would assume?! Wrong, Iceman’s terrible day got even worse when a spin at the first corner on the final lap allowed Raingod to easily pass him as Ice sat in the dust swearing at himself for making such a basic error.

So how does this all effect the overall standings?! Check it out on the forum!
